Position description: Official Description: The Paramedic responds to
emergency calls for the critically ill and/or injured, providing
immediate and efficient care for the citizens and visitors and
Directors Note:The position of Paramedic is one that requires a high degree of reliability and accountability.This position will carry a variety of responsibilities that are in support of the service's mission and values. The Paramedic is a healthcare practitioner and is expected to perform activities within their scope of practice and outlined policies with efficiency. The community instills trust in this position and as such we expect a Paramedic to operate with integrity and to handle each situation with compassion while striving for excellence in both an operational and clinical capacity.
Position requirements: -Must have reached his/her 18th birthday.
-Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
-Must maintain a valid Kentucky drivers license in good standing.
-Hold a Kentucky Paramedic License in good standing.
-Be certified in CPR, HIV-AIDS, Bloodborne Pathogens, Drivers Training, ACLS, PALS, BTLS, and or PHTLS.
-Must maintain all certification as required by KRS.
-Possess a completion of initial and yearly on-the-job training as required by KRS and/or Jessamine County EMS administration.
-Have knowledge of modern procedures, practices, and methods of the health care delivery system.
-NIMS Training (100, 200, 700, 800)
-Successfully pass a criminal background check.
-Successfully complete the pre-employment physical agility testing in the time required.
-Successfully complete all aspects of the pre-employment medical physical including OSHA required testing.
