Position description: Official Description: The EMT responds to emergency calls for the critically ill and/or injured, providing immediate and efficient care for the citizens and visitors and Jessamine County.
Director's Note: The position of EMT is one that requires a high degree of reliability and accountability.This position will carry a variety of responsibilities that are in support of the service's mission and values. The EMT is a healthcare practitioner and is expected to perform activities within their scope of practice and outlined policies with efficiency. The community instills trust in this position and as such we expect an EMT to operate with integrity and to handle each situation with compassion while striving for excellence in both an operational and clinical capacity.
Position requirements: -Must have reached his/her 18th birthday.
-Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
-Must maintain a valid Kentucky drivers license in good standing.
-Hold a Kentucky EMT Certification in good standing.
-Be certified in CPR, HIV-AIDS, Bloodborne Pathogens, Drivers Training.\r\n-Must maintain all certification as required by KRS.
-Possess a completion of initial and yearly on-the-job training as required by KRS and/or Jessamine County EMS administration.
-Have knowledge of modern procedures, practices, and methods of the health care delivery system.
-NIMS Training (100, 200, 700, 800)\r\n-Successfully pass a criminal background check.
-Successfully complete the pre-employment physical agility testing in the time required.
-Successfully complete all aspects of the pre-employment medical physical including OSHA required testing.
